{"id":841,"date":"2014-01-18T07:17:47","date_gmt":"2014-01-18T07:17:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ianmcalvert.wordpress.com\/?p=841"},"modified":"2014-01-18T07:17:47","modified_gmt":"2014-01-18T07:17:47","slug":"2014-what-is-inspiring-or-influential","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ianmcalvert.com\/index.php\/2014\/01\/18\/2014-what-is-inspiring-or-influential\/","title":{"rendered":"2014 &#8211; what is inspiring or influential?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/P3iS3q-9L\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-849\" alt=\"IanMCalvert ServiceAddress TheSocialPiggy Influencer SocialMedia Lists\" src=\"http:\/\/ianmcalvert.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/01\/ianmcalvert-serviceaddress-thesocialpiggy-influencer-socialmedia-lists.jpg?w=300&#038;resize=300%2C187\" width=\"300\" height=\"187\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Quite interesting that just before or after Christmas, and the same can be said for New Year; lists start to appear (and yes, before you say it, I did do one but <a title=\"2014InspiringPeople 2014InfluencialPeople IanMCalvert\" href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/P3iS3q-9L\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mine<\/a> was around the end of November and then has been updated since) which show you the &#8216;<em>movers and shakers<\/em>&#8216;, &#8216;<em>top people, men or women<\/em>&#8216;, &#8216;<em>influential people<\/em>&#8216; or &#8216;<em>inspiring people<\/em>&#8216; but&#8230;&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong>What are these?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Having spent last year seeing people &#8220;self promoting&#8221; saying they were on this list and that list and at this position. But what are they? Do you actually really look at these people and their backgrounds?<\/p>\n<p><em>That is why I did my <a title=\"2014InspiringPeople 2014InfluencialPeople IanMCalvert\" href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/P3iS3q-9L\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">list<\/a>\u00a0back in November and <a title=\"2014InspiringPeople 2014InfluencialPeople IanMCalvert\" href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/P3iS3q-9L\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mine<\/a>\u00a0was based on people who I found actually to be inspiring and that had interacted with myself (ie we exchanged messages, emails and\/or telephone calls), thus meaning I wanted to share these people with you as they actually are people over robots!<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/P3iS3q-9L\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-850\" alt=\"IanMCalvert ServiceAddress TheSocialPiggy Influence Lists\" src=\"http:\/\/ianmcalvert.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/01\/ianmcalvert-serviceaddress-thesocialpiggy-influence-lists.jpg?w=300&#038;resize=300%2C168\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Apologies if you are on a list and feel I have called you a robot, but my reason is simple&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><em><strong>INTERACTION!!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Just look at these lists and these people you see on there, they are coming across just totally one-sided in my opinion in most cases. Have you looked at the profiles and what they are sending? In most cases, from what I have seen, they:-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Post several times an hour<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Each and every hour\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Seven days a week<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Thus &#8211; they are constant posting, just pumping out information over and over again, do you see this from top business people or entrepreneurs?<\/li>\n<li><em>Look back at the posts &#8211; they are\u00a0repeated\u00a0each week, over the fortnight or month &#8211;\u00a0repetitive?<br \/>\n<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>When you see their posts, are they up to date? Look at the \u00a0links and blogs &#8211; see the dates on them<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>When you see their posts, you will see people have commented or shared them &#8211; yet how often is there a reply\/response from the person posting<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Lots of the posts that are posted, in some cases, are their clients work, so they are posting work for their clients that they have done, to gain more exposure for their clients &#8211; but is this right? Does this help you or them?<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So, when you see these lists, actually consider the bigger picture&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p><em>Whilst these people have got on to these lists by sharing lots of information which yes is of interest and benefit in some cases, but can they really help me? That is the question you need to ask yourself&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If they don&#8217;t speak to hardly\u00a0anyone, will they interact me? You need to interact with people and the best influencers for you and your business are people who you engage with&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><em>Just look at your business, if you didn&#8217;t communicate with your prospects, they wouldn&#8217;t become clients and these clients wouldn&#8217;t buy from you and thus, you would have no sales and no income! Meaning&#8230;&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong>NO JOB or MONEY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So, when looking at these lists, make sure you are choosing the right people to spend time with.
